What's verse 24?

Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God.

There is a good chance that high percentage of you guys know this verse. You are probably know that it’s true. We are all sinners, with a predisposition to sin. It doesn’t matter how many recommitments we make to God, how many promises to God, how many dedications we make to God...... we still sin. We can say, God from today it is a new day.... I will do this, commit to that, read this and pray that..... and after all that we still sin, we come back to God as say sorry..... again, and again and again.

But that’s alright isn’t it?.... we are sinners, that’s what we do..... how many people know Romans 3:24? Anyone? Do you? I didn’t.....

Romans 3:24 - and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus....

We need to stop listening to the evil one who is always whispering in our ear that we are just sinners, that is what we do, and nothing can change that.... you will fail. BUT.....According to this passage we were sinners, but because of Jesus, we have been justified and freed and so therefore we are righteous and holy in God’s sight.

We are not sinners who are called to holy, we are holy ones who are called to stop sinning.

We are also fed the lie that we need to keep working through our sin on our own. The truth is, we need each other and God to eradicate sin. We need to make big calls, we need to make big changes, we need to be humble and acknowledge that we need help. If you are serious about this, then you will make these big calls, make these big changes and have the difficult conversations with people who will not judge you, but help you.

It is impossible to beat sin on your own. If it was God would not have sent Jesus to die on the cross for you. You can’t..... but Jesus Christ in you can!

With Christ working in you and the community around you holding you accountable and encouraging you... you can do this..... you’ve gotta be serious...

Guys this week change your mind set.... you’re not sinners called to be holy, no, because of Jesus, you are holy called to stop sinning.

Christ wants to help you. Will you let him?
